So, with Obama declaring the end of the combat mission in Iraq and with 40-50 thousand troops still over there, can the ones who were receiving combat pay last week continue to get it in the future? I thought Obama's statement was just a self-serving political speech but it could actually have the effect of cutting pay to many of the troops there. Does anyone know for sure? Anyone have a family member over there?

No, combat pay and combat zone tax exclusion will continue.
