The new argument against the Islamic community center and mosque planned for Lower Manhattan? The center's Imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf, will infest the hallowed ground near Ground Zero with bedbugs. It's being reported that Rauf, who owns a couple of apartment buildings in Union City, NJ, has let the properties deteriorate so badly that Union City is suing him for violating tenants' rights laws. NJ.com reports that the problems with the apartments include leaks, mold, bedbug and rodent infestation and fire hazards. The city has stationed a cop car outside one of the buildings since last week because residents have complained there are no working fire alarms!
Now why would we want to allow such an unsavory character to build anything in NYC when it is now established his ownership would lead to public health issues and safety issues for those in and around the building?

The liberals don't really care about his poor tenants because in the liberal hierarchy of things, anything any Muslim does is fine. The liberals would probably say to just deport the complaining tenants since they're complaining about Muslim slumlord.

The fact this Imam may be a slumlord is totally irrelevant to anything having to do with religion. It's comical you allege Liberals are frightened of Muslims when it's the NeoConfused dragging the bottom of the barrel for any dirt they can find to throw at Muslims. In any case, one thing has nothing to do with the other. He engineered the purchase of a property near Ground Zero, and in America, we build what we want on the land we buy (so long as it's zoned).
Got a problem? Then get umpteen million and buy your own property in Manhattan and build what you want instead of being hateful of someone for being more successful than you.
