I think that was erroneous, that Israel will actually pay for most of it. And this deal, plus a $60 million purchase by Saudi Arabia, will generate much-needed jobs in the U.S.

I wonder why Hareetz didn't say any more than that small sentence about the reason that Israeli components couldn't be installed. Is there a chance that the planes would be given to them only if American contractors benefited? How much chance is there that they will make the changes after they get control of the planes?

They will reverse engineer the first one they get to get past the security protocols. But I think Apple is putting in the protocols. So it may go dead like an Apple Iphone when it gets cracked (software security bypassed).
