I'm one American who feels our votes count less and less each election. I was very upset with the SCOTUS ruling that gives free speech rights to corporations. I get the sense that our elections will be derailed and the People will have little or no say. D.C., banks and high finance are bedfellows, I don't know what the solution is. It's really sad...

I am going to have to say words about both the right and the left to answer your question. I hope that the Tea Party candidates do well enough to send a message to both the right and the left. There is very little difference between the two as long as we allow the "establishment" characters of either party to control things. I believe that many of the people being backed by the Tea Party will attempt to change things that need changing and if they do, look out for 2012 because there will either be a huge change or none at all and the establishment people will have taken over.

This is a such a great hopeful question. But I can't help keeping my response in the 'I doubt it' category. That's just where I am at this point. I hadn't voted for years and in '04 tried to help, make a difference, but ended up with Bush. Then voted again in '08 and was, so far, let down with Obamas win.

Cool thread, I often feel the same way about left and right.

It is a government "OF" the people and not for the people. I hope November's votes tell the tail.

Send a message yes
but I fear that message will be silenced due to the amount of money changing hands in DC

hate to be a downer but as long as the two political machines work to bolster the establishment the answer is NO.
