When browsing the internet I found this essay from acomputer expert about why government officials should not use Ipads: I see what you did there, Barack Obama « Goatse Security

I find his case very convincing... people need to be very careful with data, and because stuff handled by government employees is often very sensitive, they need to be forced to use less convenient technology so our data is protected.

Unfortunately much of the material you think is sensitive is probably more embarrassing and revealing of shenanigans by the government, I suspect we need more transparency, not less.

Transparency is good; security breeches in addressing classified documents, not so good.

While there are things that do need to be revealed and put in open records requests, there are things that are justly classified and should not be revealed. Imagine if sensitive taxation records that could be used to steal identities of people are taken just because Joe leaves his iPad in the movie theater restroom. We shouldn't give him the opportunity to mess up like that.
