Since the Dems have controlled congress for the past 3.5 years the Republicans have not had a chance to bring their version of a healthcare reform to the floor for a vote. Here isa list of the points they propose Health Care - GOP Solutions for America - GOP.gov

A few of the points:
Number one: let families and businesses buy health insurance across state lines.
Number two: allow individuals, small businesses, and trade associations to pool together and acquire health insurance at lower prices, the same way large corporations and labor unions do.
Number three: give states the tools to create their own innovative reforms that lower health care costs.
Number four: end junk lawsuits that contribute to higher health care costs by increasing the number of tests and procedures that physicians sometimes order not because they think it's good medicine, but because they are afraid of being sued

The real cost will come in with the other 15 millio who will be dumpoed into medicad which you has a state taxpayer wil have to pay for. That will occur 3 years after 2014 when the sates asumetheir ful increased cost. That is except Nebraska who got a exception for their senators vote on it ans sates like Louisana who got other saving redcution fortheir vote. basicially nelson of nebraska said it would bankrupt. his states so sold his vote for the exception.Hoprefully he will change his mind when it not funded with the new congress makeup coming in november.

"The fear is — and this is a legitimate concern — that since all children have to be accepted, no matter what their health condition is, that some parents might wait until their kids get sick to then buy insurance from them," Ford said. "Insurance doesn't work very well if only sick people buy it."

Most Missouri health insurance companies drop child-only policies - Columbia Missourian
Any merit to this?

If we can't afford our child-only policy when (not if) it goes up, we won't be able to purchase a child-only policy elsewhere. Bottom line: no health insurance for our children.

And so it begins.

Sure you will. The fallacy that the Insurance industry wants you to believe is that they are too expensive. The truth is that the pure profit margins for the doc's and the 200%+ over the marked up profit that was going into the pockets of the health insurance is what is being cut. And rather than continue to cover children until they are forced to, they would rather keep their profit margins. But being the free market, you have plenty to chose from.

It will preserve coverage for the millions of children who rely on CHIP today and provides the resources for States to reach millions of additional uninsured children. This legislation will help ensure the health and well-being of our nation's children.

Another fallacy, that PRESIDENT Obama destroyed anything, other than excessive profit margins and lack of actual services for payment rendered.

Thank you Mr. Insurance man for choosing profit margins over children's health and destroying families.

Bull! Obama Care crap is going to destroy all private insurance so everyone is "forced" to go to government-provided health care. It is part of the Alinksi plan to destroy Democracy and replace with Socialism which then opens the door wide to Communism.

Obama Care HAS to be rescinded and common-sense legislation replace same.

While you may not qualify for out right FREE CHIP, there is also a low cost health-coverage that has no income limit.

Talk about B.S.! The only way people will be "FORCED" into gov't. provided health care will be if the INSURANCE INDUSTRY forces people there, rather than reduce profits and provide actual services for the money they charge.

The INSURANCE INDUSTRY are the Socialists who want to be supported by Gov't., and take from the people.

haha. Look at all of the naive people lining up to defend the insurance industry's right to bend them over and stick it to them.

"But...I WANT to go back to the system where health insurance companies maintain the full power to charge me insanely spiraling rates and then rescind my health insurance policy as soon as I get cancer! I liked that system!"

Maybe Obama's plan wasn't the best answer, but what we had before was NOT WORKING - unless you happened to be an insurance company executive.
