New Spain was founded in 1521. British America was founded in1607. In "that" sense Mexico predated the US.

The US was founded in 1776, when British rule ended. Spanish rule ened in 1821, but the nation of Mexico was formed as a result of the Mexican Revolution in 1910.

So who came first? Clearly Obama needs: 1. A history lesson and 2. A major adjustment to his patriotism--An un-patriotic American president--who woulda thunk it?

Spain laid claim to the country and was busy conquering it in the 1500s, those must be the "Spanish" 0bama referred to.

Before that it was populated by the Mayans, Aztec, Olmec, and many other tribes and nations of peoples.
