The Office of Management and Budget nominee is Jack Lew.

"Landrieu has said that she will block the nomination until the moratorium on deepwater oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico has been lifted or reduced. 'Although Mr. Lew clearly possesses the expertise necessary to serve as one of the President's most important economic advisors, I found that he lacked sufficient concern for the host of economic challenges confronting the Gulf Coast,' Landrieu wrote in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid."

She's long been bought and paid for by the oil and gas industry. And she used to be a Republican I think. Looks like she still is.

What's the big deal? All of the displaced workers can now start working at all of the new "green" jobs.

If people in congress vote with their party, they're playing partisan politics and everyone complains about that. If they act independently, they're "jumping ship". What is it that people want? You can't have it both ways.

Landrieu is using accepted and legal procedural rules to do just what she was elected to do: Look out for the interests of her state.

Here's a politician doing what she was hired to do and everyone seems to think that's just dreadful. What about all this nonsense about electing representatives who listen to the people? Here's one actually doing that and ya can't stand it!

How do you think Congress works? Do you imagine they just sit around pontificating and doing what they do out of an excess of altruism?

Politics is horse-trading. Always has been, always will be.
