Sorry but the economy did not start to go downhill until well after your party took control.

It will take some time to clean up the mess the dems and Obama have left us in.

The dems put us in a double dip recession with massive spending and over taxing the job makers and it will take some time to fix all the disaster policies that the dems left us with.

The dems put the brakes on the repugs, but the damage was already done and kicked into full force once they took control of congress and we're still feeling it today. The same reason why we have a dem in office right now. If the right were doing so well, they never would have lost office.
The "slaughter" occurred during the 2006 midterm elections. The Democrats had a majority in Congress beginning January 2007. Democrats inherited a budget deficit that had been falling for 3 years and tripled it in only one year. To make matters worse, recession started in December 2007, after the Democrats had been in control for 11 months. In 2008 Democrats gained more seats, and proceeded to triple the deficit a second time for FY2009.

Bush was a lame duck president his last 2 years. There was nothing the Republicans could do without Democrat support in Congress. Arms had to be twisted to rescue our economy in 2008, nobody could agree on anything.

The economy did far better under a Republican majority Congress 1995-2001 than it did under a Democratic majority Congress 2007-2010. The deficit was turned into surplus under a Republican majority, while under a Democratic majority it increased 6x in only 2 years.

If the Rs get majorities in the house and senate, and deliver on policies that reduce government spending, the debt and support economic growth, and if they can get them through Obama without his veto, how long do you think it will take for the economy to turn around? Specifically for the unemployment rate to fall below 6%, foreclosures to drop and housing starts to take off?
Unless they win enough seats to override a presidential veto, not until 2012. The repubs may have some good ideas but we have a president who is bent on wealth redistribution which will kill this country. President Obama has a veto pen and will veto anything they try to pass even if it is good for the American people and will small business owners create jobs.

Within a year we will have full employment. I think we would see unemployment drop to less than 3%. Of course all the jobs would pay $4 an hour with no benefits but at least unemployment will fall.

Unless the Republicans manage a big enough majority in each house, and they sure won't, Obama will run things with the veto and it will take too long. Now if the House manages to sell him on the fact that they won't appropriate money for him to spend unless he does what Clinton did then it might not take as long.

I was thinking the same thing.

You failed to understand that the good years under Clinton were under Rep control.

And you kinda left off the last two years showing that total control by the dems have left us in a huge mess.

Someone else did your work to correct you I see.

Picking out parts of things dont work, you should know that by now as you have been debunked many times in the past by cherry picking info that turned out to be wrong.

Waiting on the apology and hoping we can fix the mess your party has left us in.

Follow the blue line, when was the last time it went up like a rocket like it has under the dems total control.

Shame on your party.

An economic recovery is detrimental to the Republican goal of creating a aristocratic society. I expect the unemployment under the Republicans to be over 15% if you count the people that would be kicked off the unemployment insurance roles.

I also expect the Republicans to get us into a disastrous war with Iran and possibly Pakistan.
Greg, wake up and smell the coffee. As long as Obama doesn't veto everything the Congress passes things will get better because taxes on the small businesses will be taken off and unemployment will drop like a rock. As long as the Congress continues to restrict everything in sight unemployment will continue to grow. Now do you see this group stopping the taxation on those people? If so you need some new coffee to smell.

You sound just like the talking points of the progressives and their leader, George Soros, and that takes us closer and closer to the socialistic system he wants so he can gain that global government he wants to see.
