So in Europe the governments legislates the screwing of the people and over here........oops, same thing under Obamacare! Socialists GO AWAY!
People should pay out of pocket for their own medical care, not the employer and not the taxpayer/government, period.
That's exactly right. Here we still have a choice or used to have.
If you don't like the McDonald's benefits don't work for them.
In Europe there's no choice.
Comprehensive Medical/Dental/Vision & Life insurance
Quarterly Cash Incentive
401(k) & Profit Sharing
Tuition Reimbursement
Paid-Vacation
Short-Term/Long-Term Disability
Flexible Spending Accounts
And Much More!
From my link:
Over at Forbes, David Whelan blasts McDonald's over its insurance and posturing, saying the company is "also admitting, publicly, that the benefit it calls health insurance, which it offers its workers for $14 a week–is actually rubbish."
His suggestion: go to Starbucks for your morning coffee. Yes, you'll pay more, but the workers have a better health plan.

I guess this also answers the issue of benefits as an entitlement vs being earned; they have to pay for basically no coverage.

Weren't you one of the ones arguing with me about that on another thread? That these kids (including my daughter) are all freeloaders who should go out and get a job? Lotta good it will do them.
In this economy, many people are working at McD's who are over 26 years of age. In fact, there always have been older people working at most of the McDs that I frequent. I used to have a "personal relationship" with this older guy who worked the drive through on Table Mesa Dr. in Boulder, CO.

Yeah ... everyone want the choice not to have health care ...... until they are sick.
So, the 56% of Americans who get their health insurance via their employers are all just a bunch of socialists.
And the employers who use "benefits" as a way of being competitive in the job market and attracting top talent are also just a bunch of socialists.
From the sublime to the ridiculous
Employers providing insurance undercuts competative job wages and keeps wages low due to the expense. Though, I never stated that the workers were Socialists, you made that false accusations. I'll clarify and state that those who believe an employer MUST provide health insurance as an entitlement are Socialists. Got it?
Employers who raised pay/salaries by what it actually costs them to provide insurance would be very competative indeed. Anyone can purchase their own health insurace, an employer is not required.
Let's make McDonalds pay full health benefits for those they hire even for a month and can't drop them after they quit. Yep, 10 dollar hamburgers for the public and 5 dollar drinks. Then we will all be happy.
Prices going sky high for the public and putting companies out of business but hey the big guys and gals in DC will be delighted. They don't need to dine on fast food, they have everything catered to them.
Their not 'screwing' anyone. If you want health insurance seek employment with someone that offers it. If no one took jobs at McDonald's because they didn't offer health insurance as a benefit, they'd likely have to start offering it to attract qualified applicants.
I don't understand why so many people think that's wrong.
They'd rather have the government do it for them and think that would be cheaper.

Like that's real easy to do these days. Sometimes, you have to take what you can get.
BTW, I already posted a link that quotes someone from McDonald's saying they have no intention of dropping insurance for their employees. Read my link.
