All the buzz in the right wing world has been about some second rate propaganda artist. One of his earlier paintings displays Jesus holding the US constitution, a more recent painting shows Obama standing on the Constitution.
Did Obama snatch the Constitution out of the Jesus's hand?

Thr funny but sad thing is that they probably believe that Jesus really had a copy of the Constitution, Hell, they proabably think that Jesus is one of the Founding Fathers.
That artist and his works really bother you on the left...eh ?
I saw both on his website and thought they were interesting works.
Not propaganda per say..the RNC hasn't purchased them have they ?
It sparks debate (as noted in the other thread on this) and that is what a good piece of work should do...stir up emotion. And he does a good job of it IMO.
I saw them, found them interesting. He painted his point of view. Be thankful we live in a country that allows this.
Blatant stupidity blindly followed always bothers me. But if you think I'm on "the left" you would be wrong.
I think it's a creepy piece of propaganda and that anyone taking it too seriously can't be much of a thinker.
Then it does bother you ?
You see when I first saw it what struck me was that some Presidents were clapping and others weren't. I hadn't made the connection.
I saw money on the ground and wondered if the guy on the bench threw those bills there.
I saw Pres. Obama standing on the Constitution and thought.."Does he know he's doing that ?"
Then I read what the artist had on his website and saw the video.
His portrayal reflects what many Americans are feeling. Do they not have the right to express themselves ?

Propaganda always does. Especially when mixed with religious symbolism. There is usually some weirdness to people who try to mix god with their chosen political party, yes. And so black and white...these guys = good, those guys = bad. Nope, not buying that.
But it doesn't "bother" me any more most thread here do. And here I be.
I may not know art, but I know what I like, that is crap!!

Bothers me as much as any cheesy form of expression, such as Lady Gaga.

Let's debate if Jesus wrote the Constitution. Good debate it will be.

We live in a country that allows me to say that his art is crap. Politics aside, it's the kind of art work you see in those mall art galleries, mega art sales at convention centers, or along the highway with the rest of the velvet paintings
