How is that free speech?

The "artist" should try that with an image of muhammed and see how long he keeps his head.

So if I want to make a painting depicting Muhammad having gay sex with another man...then I should not expect any violence or vandalism?
Okie-dokie...

Too bad she didn't smash the artist with her crowbar instead.

So-called artists rarely have the stones to do something that actually makes a statement against the religion of hate.

the fact that this thread has no poll is also akin to getting hit over the head with a crowbar

edit- the OP added a poll, and the world breathes a huge sigh of relief.

To me, the fact that the artist has not had a fatwa declared on his head is a testimony to the peacefulness of Christianity. Honestly...I don't know how anyone can compare islam and Christianity with a straight face.

All art is de facto free speech. It's only illegal if a judge and jury find it to be obscene.

Whether you expect violence is up to you. If it happens, it would be illegal.

Smashing the artist with her crowbar would be illegal too, regardless of anyone's expectations.

I personally disagree--but the law is the law. Technically, this "artist" had the right to make it. Technically, the woman was wrong to smash it.

Personally, I love the fact that she destroyed it. I don't necessarily condone her actions, though. I would again point out that if she were a muslim she'd have probably gone after the "artist".

So the intolerance of one group is used to justify the violent behavior of another? Is this the best argument you can put forth to justify this woman's actions? How Christian of you!
