I've always found religion and science to be incompatible with one another. I put my faith in science.

There's no reason science and religion can't be friends. The problem is democrats and republicans (or liberals and conservatives) insist on name calling and fighting with each other, rather than respecting one another and finding compromise and they've taken over science and religion (each taking a side). It's ridiculous, they politicize everything....each taking opposite sides because they hate each other.

There are tons of people involved with science that have religious beliefs. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just a matter of respecting others. People that extremely religious, don't have to discredit science either. If they really believe god created everything, then why can't they get through their head that god also created science. Why should there be any arguments at all? It's because of disrespect and politics, not religion and science being opposites.

I no longer believe that science and religion are compatible at all, based on modern findings.

Religion was invented by humans in ancient/prehistoric times to try to explain the origins of life, the universe, purpose, morality and all other things real or imagined when scientific knowledge did not exist to explain these things.

However, religion is becoming less and less necessary in the modern age when science is giving us increasingly accurate answers to these ultimate questions.

This thread makes little sense, because religion and science are two almost completely parallel entities.

Religion concerns the supernatural. Science concerns the natural world.

Science cannot disprove God, because "God" is simply out of science's realm.

You clearly aren't familiar with global warming. It's religion and science rolled into one!

This thread is ultimately about political views. Truths are not swayed by man's opinions.
