and... many of these "tea party" voters are new voters, and/or Obama voters.

The Constitution "general welfare" deals with the welfare of THE COUNTRY.. not the citizens..

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

No one is supporting using governmental money to expand corporate powers, so I'm not sure what your point is..

Revenues went UP.. You dont need to pay for something that pays for itself if designed properly.. Its SPENDING thats the problem!!!

The United States IS it's citizens (first line of Constitution "We the People of the United States,..."), so USA is just shorthand for ALL its citizens. (Just as Christians say a church is it's members.) So yes, the Constitution was created for the General Welfare of its citizens! Back to the Op's question "How do we pay for tax cuts".

Here is an idea.. Save taxes by cutting out things not supported by the constitution, starting with welfare and section 8.

Next, tax all people of all incomes equally, since the government is there to provide it's services to all people equally, such as military protection, etc. Drop the income tax, and institute a fair tax so that whenever someone buys goods they pay their taxes. (Something criminals don't pay now as well as many people working under the table). EITC goes away, as do entitlement programs.

I have read the Constitution, and no. I have not seen where the people of the U.S. who are working are supposed to support other people. that's what charity is for.

a tax cut is jsut that, a cut in the thievery of the government stealing my money

maybe the government should figure out how to 'provide for the general welfare' with out taxing people to death...

answer this..if the government is saying there is no inflation and they are not giving SS a cola...then why did the SS expendtiture go up 20%

3.4 trillion divided by the 300 million population is 11k EACH PERSON....can you afford that aspiesmom???? you have at least on child..that means YOUR FAIR SHARE of PAYING is atleast 22k...can you afford that

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

The people CREATED the document to ensure the USA protects ITSELF..

USA is shorthand for The United STATES... thats STATES who hold legislative power and hold responsibility for the citizens..

we must budget

The government wastes too much money!!! We have too many gov't agencies. Many of them are not needed, or can be consolidated into other agencies. We need to let companies fail on their own merits. Banks, Fannie, Freddie, etc. Too big to fail? says who?
We can make cuts across the board... including DOD
There are so many DOD contracts that are not needed anymore. lets cut those

No govt budget that is in the red becomes in the black if income (taxes) are CUT! This is basic math. If you have a credit card that is maxed out, and you stop spending, the credit card is STILL maxed out!
