I was talking with someone the other day about some of my travels to Europe & he thought the universal health care in most countries over there was a good thing & it could work here too. I would generally be for some sort of universal care system if it were truly feasable. It's absolutely not feasable for a couple of reasons.

First off, we are becoming far too populated. Too many people immigrate here (for reasons I can't understand), and birth rates here are some of the highest of any "developed" country. By the time we hit the 22nd century, we will likely be where India and China are right now with over 1 billion people. Most nations with universal health care have less than 1/5th of our current population & that's why it works for the most part in those countries.

Second, too many people here are in very poor health. So many people here "need" their Pizza Hut & McDonald's everyday, their alcohol, cigarettes, crystal meth, heroin, etc. Too many are completely sedentary, you'll see this at times in Wal-Mart with 450 pound people on electric scooters hooked up to an oxygen tank. Add to that, a number of people are on some quest for immortality so to say electing for medical procedures to extend their lives maybe another year when realistically they may only have 6 months of quality life left. Anyway, I won't be contributing to that problem, if I ever come down with cancer or anything like that, I just won't treat it, I'm ready to check out of here anyway.
