Definitely not goods news. Losing the young voters, along with Indies and virtually all the conservatives/republicans that gave him a shot and about 30% of democrats....what does he have left?
If President Barack Obama needed any more reminders that it's not 2008, he got another one Thursday night in a town hall with young voters.
Back when he was a candidate, Obama inspired legions of young people who responded to his message of hope, and the feeling that he would move decisively on issues important to them, like gay rights. But after two years in office, he found himself on the defensive before a young audience that wanted to know why he hasn't done as much as he said he would.
The Obamamania that gripped college campuses two years ago is gone.
An Associated Press-mtvU poll found college students cooling in their support for President Barack Obama, a fresh sign of trouble for Democrats struggling to rekindle enthusiasm among many of these newest voters for the crucial midterm elections in three weeks.
"Now, if you don't read a newspaper, you wouldn't know there's about to be an election," he said.
Yes, they seem to have reverted to their normal participation levels.
Oh, he's trying to inspire them with all these campus rallies, an "image" he would like to put forth about his "fired-up" base, but anyone can see it for what it is - more trickery and deceit. What better way to give the perception that you're drawing huge crowds, that the "magic" of 2008 is back again, than to have a rally on a college campus?

Yeah, well... that's what happens when those college students graduate and can't get jobs. The 'Hope and Change' fantasy bubble bursts, and they realize it was really just 'Hype the Chumps' all along.

Exactly. I think they are having just as hard a time as the average American having to listen to his rubbish and lies.

I highly doubt that anyone who started college four years ago and can't get a job this year is blaming the guy who's been president for two years.
The article itself states that the reason young people are less enthusiastic is because he hasn't done enough, not that the don't like what he's done or plans to do. You're happy about this for the wrong reasons...

He hasn't done enough
Quite a few young people today have no sense of responsibility for themselves or accountability and think that they are expected to get entitlements
Most of the social programs were for a hand up not a hand out !
My daughters and son-in-law are all early to mid 20's, and they saw through him from the beginning as a fraud. So did a lot of their friends. My youngest daughter was a senior in high school in 2008, and a lot of the kids treated him, his "hope and change", and "yes we can" as a joke. Young, African American, and hip doesn't impress anyone in this area. I doubt if the past two years have made them change their mind, and now they will be old enough to vote in 2012.
I'll be 19 at the time of the next presidential elections but if Obama does run for president again, I will not be voting for him.
