This could likely bring substantial tax revenues. The only ones i could possibly see fighting against it is the religious right.
But it would contradict the federal laws on the issue, and federal laws preempt state laws.
Legalizing prostitution would bring lots of state revenues, and you won't see that happening.
My questino for libs, is when pot gets legalize, and they have coffee shops where people can smoke pot, can you provide me ANY possible logical reason why they would make people smoke cigarettes outside other than the fact they hate smokers?
Imagine they had a law targetting gays or something like it. You look the other way when you don't care about the targetted group. There is ZERO difference between cigarette smoke or pot smoke re: cancer because the cancer causing agent is tar, and that produce from ANY substance you burn...

Clearly we'll make enough money in taxes on people smoking weed to cover a couple trillion dollars in debt. I'm all for legalizing pot but I'm not crazy enough to believe it'll fix our financial problems, CA's politicians have every tax dollar that legal pot might make already spent before it ever helps pay off any debt.

No it is not. Don't you remember the feds raiding the pot growers and sellers in Cali? Even though the state laws allowed medical use?
