...wait minute. Scratch that

"...Sarah Palin told voters not to party like it's 1773 *yet* until we get a solid congress and senate with Tea Party -type legislators in it. When the original Tea Party took place, right?

Markos M. at KOS, thinking he had a "gotcha" quickly responded by mocking her, and Gwen Ifill jumped on the bandwagon too - Palin took them down with a single tweet, and Markos immediately started scrubbing

Kind of a natural mistake. Palin saying something specific has been rare and most often completely wrong. She must have paid attention to her trainer this time.

That really makes no sense. If she wants to party like it's 1773, woman had no power in politics and weren't allowed to vote. Heck most never even went to school.

Yeah, but if the erudite, sophisticated Progressives at Kos and PBS wish to publicly crow about her "mistake" they better:

a) know what the hell they're talking about

b) not try to say they "meant some thing else" when they're caught in the act of erroroneously lording over the masses with they're wit and wisdom.

funny stuff.

here's a daily kossack with a scolding memo:

While Twitter and it's instant reply capability may be helpful in most instances, just remember: Twitter also enables us to **** up at the speed of light.

The next time anyone feels inclined to leap on a topic, take a few minutes to CHECK YOUR FACTS.

Here ends the lesson.

Nice. an actual admission of "****ing up at the speed of light"

Palin and her handlers have yet to learn this concept:

Humility and admission of one's mistake.

Interesting.

Hey! She got a fact right!! Maybe she'll learn something else new?

Default Some of the comments at various www sites are a hoot

Quote:
"Kos, the epitome of the ignorant hipster douchebag.

Of course, Keefums will be all over this tonight, claiming Sarah just got lucky and that she didn't know that the original Tea Party took place in 1773 .

Must maintain shallow veneer of intellectual superiority, doncha know."
"

Quote:
"Wow, they're all trying to say they were being sarcastic as an excuse."

Which doesn't even make sense.

Did that little kos person de-pants himself in front of all his devoted readers?

Please tell me he did."
Quote:
"Gwen Ifill is now tweeting that she was quoting Sarah Palin's speech from yesterday, so everyone should "stand down." There's the little problem, Gwen, of your "ummm," following your quote. Admit your mistake, Ms. Ifill, don't try to play it that you just happened to be quoting her speech, when the left side of the blogosphere was in an orgy of mocking."
My fave:

Quote:
"pbsgwen Ummmm, we are having a 3rd grade history debate, could you moderate and quote it too?"

She was right on this one--it's a first, but it should teach people to fact check before they start jumping.
