Regardless of whether they support the conservative movement, 55 percent of Americans in the national survey think the Tea Party can "effectively bring about major changes in the way the government operates."
That result buttresses the Tea Party's already high-profile debut on the national stage. The New York Times reported last week that 138 Tea Party-affiliated candidates are running for congressional office, including three dozen in competitive House races and eight with a chance at Senate seats -- enough potentially to give the movement real legislative clout.
Who knew there were so many? According to the Left, just McDonnell and Angle count.

The left wingers are worried because they know there are more TP members then there are liberals left in America.
Likely, there is a good following of the far right evangelical extremists (tea party) then there are liberals (green party)
Even the republicans don't like the tea party (remember rove going off on O'Donnell?)
With only 20% of Americans calling themselves liberal the TP has more clout, more members and more brains then the 20% left over anti Americans.
I am sure you can see the left wingers are scared to death they are going to lose some of their power real soon.
Notice they are down playing the loss of seats by now saying a major swing to the GOP will mean nothing.
Shows just how worried they are.
ONE single seat won by the GOP in either house is a HUGE WIN for the real Americans over the anti American left.
