Just as critical, from your own link:

But only 27% of California voters say the current policies of the federal government have put the U.S. economy on the right course.

Banks failed and stock markets crashed September 16, 2008 during Bush term. Obama took office Jan. 20, 2009. How can anyone in their right mind blame Obama for the financial crisis? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!!!!

After 20 months of BO people are hurting and afraid for their future. Obama's big government approach is scaring business so they are afraid to expand and hire.

I believe that BO wants the American economic system to fail so that people will have no choice but to rely on big government.

So if I understand Obama's story on this, the tale goes like this ...

When President Bush was in office, the Democrat controlled congress all went home on vacation and authorized Bush to take their seats and votes.

Before they got back, Bush had voted in their stead to authorize and fund all policies and programs which he was tied to whether directly or indirectly.

Good story Obama.

How about a story about poll numbers?

Let's try to keep this discussion relative to California citizen sentiments, and how these may impact this election.

People know Bush and his cronies tanked this country, but what they also no is the obama kool-aid just is not cutting it any more. The state just lost 60,000 jobs, unemployment is the second highest in the nation, illegals are run a muck, housing is over inflated in may places, our troops are in iraq, etc.

Pretty much everything Obama claimed he would solve, he has not done. And this is with the dems in congress. The reality of the situation is nothing has changed and he has proven to be nothing but a lame duck.

Which would be my guess as to why he has sent everyone, including his wife to try to rally the base here in california. He knows people have soured on him, and if it does not get better he will likely be a one term president.

Though I suppose it was cool because he was black. Now lets let an Italian, jew, woman, or anyone who can do the job, do it correctly .

I am entirely apolitical ... I belong to no party, group, club, organization, or religion of any kind. That said, I was raised around major-league politicians both local and national, all of whom I found disingenuous at best -- and this history, along with my not being old enough to vote when I returned from Vietnam, no doubt contributed to my political apostasy by age 19.

But of this I am absolutely certain: the troubles that our country as a whole, and California as a part, are experiencing have been in the making for a very very long time. Most specifically since Reagan took the Presidency in 1981. Neither Democrats nor Republicans can claim exception to the devolution into a type of consumer-capitalism and finance/investment obsession that destroys its host -- a cancer. This is not to preach socialism, and certainly not communism. Nope. Don't believe in them either. But whatever system is to emerge to cure the present "it's all about me and what I can get" disease, it will require grueling surgery and suffering and sacrifice of ALL -- including the rich who are so vehemently claiming rights to exception at present. And whether Obama is on the right track -- whether Brown or Whitman have any answers and surgical skills -- cannot be judged in 20 months of the present national administration -- nor will be judged in 20 months of whichever new governorship -- particularly given the extreme polarity and resistance of all politicians to the process of finding common goals and solutions. It's like trying to build a house in a tornado out there.

There is no instant gratification on this one. There are no quick cures for cancer. It is a long and arduous process not for the faint of heart. I know this quite literally as well as figuratively. And I know that switching protocols in mid-treatment, because of impatience and pain only worsens the disease and prolongs recovery -- if not kills its chances.

Tighten your belts ... take your medicine ... try to hang onto some humor ... you're going to need it ... this won't be better any time real soon.

Bizzare. People are really ignorant of history and economic policy. It looks like Americans are easily manipulated by political talking points.

That was helpful. Broad, sweeping generalizations followed by a universal insult adds nothing.

For purposes of a possible discussion, would you care to add some specifics to what you posted?

As nullgeo posted:

I think it's going to be a long, long time before there is discernible improvement. I also don't believe it can even begin before the cancer that is and has been the both the state and federal legislatures is excised and the people take back the ability to select their representatives instead of the process being the other way around.

That would at least be a beginning for the healing process but again as nullgeo pointed out, once entered upon, the citizens would have to stay the course.
