I don't get it! After Bush gave all those tax cuts, I thought the wealthy would create more jobs through that "trickle down" theory.

Don't worry...if the Repugnants take over the House and Senate within ONE MONTH the economy will recover , there will be millions of jobs, taxes will be obliterated and we all can live for free!!!

I suggest that employers who lay off people tell them the truth as to why they had to let them go so people don't have to wonder whose fault it is. If they can't afford the new healthcare rules they will have to abide by, tell the employees who are being laid off. If they are worried about skyrocketing utility bills due to Cap and Trade, tell the employees. If they have no idea about how much they will be socked by the Democrat majority letting the Bush tax cuts expire, tell people. If onerous rules and regulations makes the administrative job more important than their ten year job on the job floor, tell them that's why they are being let go. Just saying "it's the economy" doesn't help people who aren't paying attention put two and two together. I'm surprised the Chamber of Commerce isn't running more ads with real business owners saying why they had to let people go.
And it is only going to continue to get worse before it gets better. Food prices are rising, taxes are headed up, energy prices will double if Cap & Trade goes through.
We need a Congress and a POTUS who actually knows how to stimulate business and bring our manufacturing back to the USA, like yesterday!
This is where government can add some economic stability, by publicly declaring no new taxes, and no to any thoughts of a energy tax or cap & trade.
0bama could have done all he could to add stability and encourage growth, but instead. all he and the democrats have done is add instability, confusion, uncertainty and chaos. Because of 0bama our tax situation is unknown, the future of health care regulations and mandates is unknown, financial regulations are unknown and 0bama says he will sign the cap & trade bill as soon as it hits his desk.
Anywhere 0bama could insert future economic uncertainty, he has done it. So do not look for employers to gamble on new hires, new expansion or risk taking.

The reason why we spend so much time ranting and raving against the Teabaggers and FauxNews pretend journalist is because not only do they not give a damn about unemployment but have done everything in their power to keep any sane person from doing anything about it.
All the TRAITOR Obama would need to do is ENFORCE the immigration laws and unemployment would be halved,instead if this issue is brought up the only excuses used are that it is:
1. Bush's fault
2. You're a Racist
There is only a small percentage of the 20 MILLION Illegal aliens working in agriculture. The US would save billions in infrastructure and welfare costs,would'nt have a MASSIVE underground economy that doesn't pay taxes and sends money back to Mexico.
Instead Obama keeps pandering to these criminals with his Si Se Puede BS. If you want to see employment really improve you'll have to wait until this Clown is out of office.

Let's by all means go back to the days of no health insurance provided by employers, no concerns about environmental degradation, no safety net for anyone. It was so much better back then, with people starving to death, getting killed regularly in industrial accidents, and so forth.

If you are over 50 and under 62, you should be horrified. If you get laid off, you will probably never work again.
That all depends on your job skills. I'm an out of work auto mechanic and always have people asking me to fix this or that on their vehicles because they cannot afford to take it to a shop. In addition to that, I cut grass on the side for extra money. The only time I don't spend working now is by choice.

Not really teenagers and recent LEGAL immigrants and people out of UE benefits would take these jobs. Also there of people with expired 401B visas still working that have high paying jobs that unemployed Americans would jump at.
