The large bulk of the rise of the current debt is made upp of war spending in Afghanistan an costs for the reconstruction of Iraq in combination with falling tax revenues as a result of the economic downturn and Bushes tax cuts.
Ding... Ding... Ding.... Correct... Give the man a prize...
You still haven't answered the question... What were the Democratic congress spending on in 2007?...
Actually that would have been 2008..
But the answer isnt the war which is what you are looking for.. The war spending was going on since 2002 and the deficits were DECREASING until 2007

Bull crap.. Bush tax cuts in 2002 INCREASED revenues, employed TEN MILLION individuals and DOUBLED capital gains tax revenues to the government. Debt is from SPENDING, not a lack of income..

BZZZZ WRONG... War spending is 5% of the national spending.. THATS IT.. In 2008 $150B was spend on the wars, with $3T spend TOTAL..
The national debt is $1.3 TRILLION which means the wars are ONLY 10% of the deficits.
btw, is this the same war in Afghanistan that you said Obama wasnt funding?

So what was the spending on if it wasn't Afghanistan war spending?... Pathetic...
The lesson from this is that if you want the deficit to be eliminated, hope the next Speaker promises to set new records for the largest deficit. He or she will break the promise like all politicians do.
The $4.997-trillion increase in the national debt since she took the gavel is more debt than the federal government amassed from the speakership of Rep. Frederick Muhlenberg of Pennsylvania, who became the first speaker of the House on April 1, 1789, to the start of the speakership of Rep. Newt Gingrich of Georgia, the 58th speaker, who took up the gavel on Jan. 4, 1995.

Who cares. Shes a democrat. Lets continue to support their policies
Debt has increased with 3 trillion since Obama took office mostly because of falling tax revenus as a result of the economic downturn and because of war spending in Aghanistan and Iraq.
