No thanks. With a firearm, the odds tilt immeasurably in my favour. There's nothing "superman/hero" about it. That's liberal nonsense-talk.
You can roll over and allow your house to be cleaned out while you beg the invader not to harm you. That's not my choice.

Have you ever actually had your house broken into? Is your TV/credit card/material belongings in general worth your life or those of your family? Have you ever lost someone close in your family to violence? All serious questions.

You should wear a vest then too if you're going to carry at all times. Guns (and mechanical items in general) aren't the most reliable of objects to count on working properly and not malfunctioning 100% of the time.

Why?
I don't want to own a gun, plan to force me?
So sorry that you live in such a crime ridden area that this is what you expect from life.

My experiences are the opposite.

Melodrama is not required.

Ooooh, another troll post.

Does your choice make you a better person? Hardly.
Who’s cowering? Not me, I have a high quality of life and don’t really care about things, they’re not worth dying for.
So sorry that you feel that you must have a weapon in order to be happy; I don’t have that need.

I dont think you should own a firearm either, especially if you dont want one. but goverement should not be able to tell the law abiding citizen whether or not they can own and use a firearm in self defense.

New Orleans after Katrina is a perfect example of that. It wasn't just the "bad" neighborhoods where the total collapse of civilization caused problems.

This is true... the police had their own part to play in it as well.

Ex-cop pleads guilty in Katrina bridge shooting cover-up - CNN

This whole story still disgusts me... shooting people for trying to reach safety? And the state court let them off the hook? smh at the things that happen in the name of this country

I sure as heck saw some proud gun control liberals on tv (hi sean penn) with their showguns and rifles protecting their property after katrina hit.

it just goes to show that they are in favor of taking rights away from the normal citizen (you and I) and not taking away their right to bear arms.

What does politics have to do with shooting unarmed disaster victims who are merely trying to escape the disaster zone? I didn't even bring up that the officers were white and the bridge victims were black, which obviously from the witness testimony and some of the officers' later comments had just about everything to do with it. Why would someone bother to politicize Katrina anyway? To what gain? There were reports of crazy white people (usually older) shooting blacks who came within 20 ft of their property for being black. I could politicize that to make a claim that the older white folks in question were likely republicans but that would be disrespectful to the entire disaster.

I used to hunt and still have a shotgun somewhere in a closet. I'd never go hunting with Cheney.

I don't care if people own guns but humans sure seem to be going round the bend, so I worry.

I don't understand the need to pack heat in church. What is up with that anyway?
Why does the RW feel the need to have a gun in a place of worship?

What gun would Jesus bring to church? I'm not religious but I am curious how religious people justify shooting each other.

I don't know about your church, but mine is a little congregation out in a very small town, so maybe things are different.

Not too many years ago, we had an armed husband walking up and down the street threatening to come in and "kill all the Baptist's" because his wife and children were attending services.

Several years before that, we had a man walk into church brandishing a loaded pistol and claiming he was going to "shoot the preacher."

Since then, there's rarely a Sunday when someone isn't packing.
