He said Republicans had driven the economy into a ditch and then stood by and criticized while Democrats pulled it out. Now that progress has been made, he said, “we can’t have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.”

What happened to the inclusive president? The one that was meant to bring us all together? The one that said this in his 2004 Democratic Convention speech:

Well, I say to them tonight, there is not a liberal America and a conservative America — there is the United States of America. There is not a Black America and a White America and Latino America and Asian America — there’s the United States of America.
Talk about bait and switch at it's finest.

Yep. But does it make the point any less valid?

It's Obama's words - not anyone elses.

But the problem is, BO will now try to backpaddle and the liberal media will give him a stage to stand on so that his own words soon become just a right wing conspiracy. That is how the libs roll.

BO has no intention of practicing partisan politics. He is a disgusting narcissist.

Since you seemed eager to defend your position, perhaps you could share the context and/or interpretation of that other side?

So much for the Great Uniter!

He simply cannot hide his disdain for those who disagree. Sad, pathetic little man he is.

Obama, since 2004 and probably before, honestly believed that Repub Politicians actually would be willing to work for the American people. The unfortunate truth that has turned out, is that they will not. Up until early 2010, Obama still had hopes they would. Now, he has come to terms with the reality, they will not do that.
