Fat paychecks and luxurious benefits before the kids.
How many cuts did Christie request and get in the salaries/benefits of the pols who sign the other side of union contracts and in the pensions of those who signed the contracts the state's now saddled with?
Unions...I'm sure there was once upon a time when they were needed and helpful. Now...what abuse! They are destroying our schools and our country.
I suspect that if the extremist groups attacking our middle-class, via attacks on public employees and teachers, examined the claims experience of most large companies ... the results would be similar. These procedures talked about were approved as a benefit of the health insurance plan proposed by the school systems and agreed to by the teachers. Collective bargaining is one of the purest forms of a democratic society. Oppose that and you're un-American.
The article only mentions "chemical peels and other skin treatments" as being the elective procedures. A relative of mine used to go to the dermatologist for chemical peels for his acne. He was working at a factory for minimum wage and minimal benefits at the time, but even his health insurance covered the treatments. Maybe it's not so much of an issue?
