Smile I think there should be "no" age limit

My birthday is on Halloween so I wanted to get my own candy this year. I dressed up as Cleopatra (made my own costume) and I went with my 10 year old grandaughter (she was a gray squirrel) and my 4 year old grandson.

I brought my own bag & went up to the doors with my grandkids..held out my bag (after saying trick or treat of course)..told them it was my birthday and everyone was so nice and also gave my candy....UNTIL...about the 20th house....I was waiting for the candy to be put in my bag (I wait till last) and this MEAN lady stated "I DON'T GIVE CANDY OUT TO ADULTS"..

We all just stood there for a minute...then after seeing the look on her huffy face...I backed away and was getting ready to leave when she said "YOU DON'T NEED ANY"...about 10 kids heard this...so as I was walking away in stunned silence, the neighbor was outside handing out candy & she said "I WILL GIVE YOU SOME CANDY"....

I wish now that I would have told the lady that wouldn't give me candy that she was MEAN..but I didn't want to start anything in front of the kids...so the wind was taken out of my sails..

I mean it was my birthday after all..and I just turned 53...I will try again next year..

Wow. I am so sorry you went through that. I honestly don't care who comes to my house. I give candy to anyone.

That was awfully rude of that lady. She must have some issues.
