If people have so little to worry about that this is still front and center in their minds come 2012, I'd say the country must be moving in the right direction.
"If people have so little to worry about that this is still front and center in their minds come 2012, I'd say this country must be moving even more so in the wrong direction solely due to Obama."
The San Francisco Giants won. Obama does not need to woo any voters in the Bay Area. Now, if Texas had won, he would have been on the phone in a heartbeat.
To us longtime Giants fans, last night was much more than a "stupid baseball game"..It was the first time in the team's 52 year history that they've won the World Series. We have waited our entire lifetimes for this to finally happen.
If you were a sports fan you would understand the emotions that this achievement has brought out among Giants diehards such as myself.
Hopefully, I think probably Obama will call sometime in the next couple days..If not, I'll lose some respect for him.
^^^^This mentality is one of the main problems in America today....the idea that if President Obama doesn't jump through whatever effing personal agenda hoop that each and every person has in this nation....they will lose respect, blah blah blah. Since when is President Obama our personal "yes" man?
No, I am not a sports fan (except for the Lakers......LAKERS DYNASTY!!!) but in all honesty I really could care less if the President of the United States acknowledged my team or any other team for winning a series or championship....it simply is not that important in the grand scheme of things.
So let's see.....hmmmm....what's more important (1) working to maintain the Democratic control of Congress the night before midterm elections or (2) calling a baseball team to say "attaboy"
It's pretty pathetic the repugs will find any ridiculous thing to make another bash Obama thread.
Presidents have been doing this kind of thing as long as I can remember. Of course, most of them had advisors who knew about things like that and not just the kind who think only about how to get progressivism more firmly established before they lose all legislative control.
Obama seems to be much better at apologizing to other peoples than at doing what tradition has called for. They always make that call right after the game is played: Super Bowl, World Series, NBA, NCAA basketball.
Oops, I forgot the Colorado state champion who none of them would have called but then I don't think like a progressive.
