Is the Tea Party becoming a religious movement?

DeMint's solution is to put government -- and the economy -- in the service of Jesus, to cultivate a "leadership led by God," as the religious organization that gives DeMint not only a theology but also a roof puts it. DeMint is a longtime resident of the C Street House, the "Prayboy Mansion," as some bloggers have called it, made infamous in 2009 for its role in the sex scandals of Sen. John Ensign, R-Nevada, and Gov. Mark Sanford, R-South Carolina, and maintained by a fundamentalist movement known as the Fellowship, or the Family.

This explains why the right wing religious on these boards believe in trickle down voodoo economics. They actually believe that Jesus or God put the wealth in the hands of the chosen to dole out to the rest as they see fit.

"C Street," Jeff Sharlet's examination of the evangelical group, the Fellowship

The Fellowship, he maintains, with its desire to inculcate an anointed elite, is merely one example of an authoritarian desire to replace government by the people with government by God's chosen few.

These people really need to be sucked up into the ether via the Rapture. We certainly do not need them and their demented and archaic stupidity and insanity!

Tea Party Kingmaker Becomes Power Unto Himself - NYTimes.com

"As for his future, Mr. DeMint has written a book with a patriotic-sounding title ('Saving Freedom'), often a sign of a senator with his eye on the White House. And his fund-raising and campaigning around the country have left him with a network that would be vital to any presidential run. He may be betting that rankling his colleagues in Washington can only increase his stature in the rest of the country."

Putting jim demint in the white house would be the same as putting loius farrakahn in there. If he is elected I will defend my right to be a citizen and to vote and to not be discriminated against any way I can.

I just heard that the fools here have reelected Demint.

Apparently South Carolina felt like they were getting to be too well thought of in the world and decided to temper it.

That would be wonderful if he were in service of the real One, but Jesus warned us of false profit$:
"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. (16) You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? (17) Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. (18) A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. (19) Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. (20) Therefore by their fruits you will know them." Matthew 7:15-20

With Demint, we must worry about false prophets. With Republicans in general, it's false profits I'm more concerened about.

I'd rather trust in Jesus, than trust Jim DeMint.

They may be the same person.

I've never seen the two of them together.

Don't expect to, either.
