The first episode of Sarah Palin's new show, "Sarah Palin's Alaska," has been placed online and it starts with what is now a familiar lament about the intrusiveness of the press from the former Alaska Governor.
How interesting that her fans see her as a victim, just as they see themselves.
Her fans do like whiny drama, and she has kept them supplied with it for two years now. First she was victimized by Katie Couric. Then it turned out she'd been victimized by the McCain campaign. Then she was victimized by the Secret Service when they sent an agent to Alaska to get back the clothes she and the little family had charged to the GOP and fled with over the icy tundra. Then she was victimized by bloggers, who were so mean she had to quit her job. Then she was victimized by the reporter who moved in next door and wanted to peek in hr babies' windows, so she and Todd had to ostentatiously build a fence. She's got an ongoing subplot with the no-good son-in-law story, which has branched off to her daughter's own manufactured dramas on TV. I've forgotten quite a few storylines. Here's a recent small bit of Sarah drama.
She's great entertainment if you like soaps, and her fans really do, and she knows it and is very good at playing them.
