Seems as if NY made the right call with this election. Good for you Governor Cuomo! Unlike crazy man Palladino, you don't need a baseball bat to get things done.

When asked to comment on his letter, DOT spokeswoman Olivia Alair responded: "We recognize that there is an incredible demand for high-speed rail dollars around the country. The Obama administration’s high-speed rail program will create jobs, spur economic development and provide people with cleaner, greener alternatives to driving and flying.”

Years later... Cuomo, says I need Federal Assistance with maintaining the transit I just built and I need the Federal Government to subsidize the travel fares for New Yorkers... hmmm.. seems like Cuomo is going to ask for an UNLIMITED bailout FOREVER... hmm... I really don't need another Amtrak...

About 35 million of 58 million Northeastern Region residents use Public Transit / Amtrak. That includes , Light Rail , Urban Bus / Intercity Bus , Amtrak , Subway , Biking ,and High Speed Rail. The Entire Northeastern Amtrak network requires little to no subsides ,or runs on profit. New York has plans for an Upstate HSR / Regional Rail system , connecting all the Major cities so if other states don't want it NY should get it. As for the ARC project , its a good thing its dead. It was stealing $$$ for other projects like the Urban Rail projects that are now all on hold due funding issues it slowed down funding of Restored Regional rail lines......
