When in U.S history has the opposing party preferred to have a president in office from the other party?
I say this because I think folks are making too much of the republicans wanting Obama to be a one term president,of course they do. Wouldn't democrats want a republican president to be a one term president also?

The scariest part of this is that they want that "Dubya in a skirt" Sarah Palin to replace him
I think the issue is that they are PUBLICLY saying it, and at a time when the last thing we need is a Congress who by openly saying it is saying that nothing will be done in the next 2 years to solve our many problems.
Of course both parties have always thought that way about an opposition president, but again I think the big issue is that McConnell said it publicly and thus looked like we truly have an obstructionist gov't.
The problem is that the republicans aren't trying to help move the country forward. They don't care that unemployment is high and that foreclosers are still going on. They are actually laughing at that.

Agree.
The Republicans will attempt to stonewall any progress and actually will attempt to make things worse in an effort to take back the White House in 2012. Their attitude is "to hell with the underclass" this is a great opportunity to get the WH back....no matter who suffers for a few more years.

No, they don't.....When asked they are all polite to not just jump in and dis her, but all have said "to not dis qualify her, but it's too early to say who would be the best pick".

The thing is if unemployment and the economy did start to improve that would help Obama to get re-elected. If the economy got better by 2012 what would the republicans have to run on against Obama? It's an awkward situation for the republicans. Helping Obama fix the economy would kinda hurt their chances at the white house.
The economy is getting better. Republicans don't have a shot at 2012. Just nominate Palin to end her political aspirations once and for all.
Palin vs. Obama in 2012 sounds like a good idea. He'd win for sure.
