Here's something specific. Our country is being toppled by Communists and Marxists. The economy is purposely being crashed. The dollar is in a "managed" decline. Having watched Beck, I know that Cloward and Piven are 2 of his favorite targets. He again referenced them on Friday's show. Have you ever actually read what Cloward and Piven wrote? I didn't until recently. It is not what Beck would have you believe. I'm not arguing in favor of their plan, just pointing out that Beck has distorted it. He often uses it, his distorted view of the article, as the foundation to make some other point about how progressives behave or operate.
Beck: In the last two years, we've learned an awful lot about our country together. We've learned some really good stuff and some really bad stuff about our country. I mean, we screwed the Indians. It is our purpose to advance a strategy which affords the basis for a convergence of civil rights organizations, militant anti-poverty groups and the poor. If this strategy were implemented, a political crisis would result that could lead to legislation for a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty.
The plan was not to drive people into poverty, but to have people obtain the benefits the existing poverty program was suppose to provide. It was their belief that this would overwhelm the system which would be forced to reform and switch to a system based on guaranteed national income.
They were not trying to collapse or destroy America, just trying to reform the poverty programs.
