I believe that us being over there is good because we keep them on the run. Our troops are chasing down those terrists and instead of leaving them to sit around and come up with an evil scheme were keeping them on the move from hurting us. So it's either our troops over there risking there lives for a greater cause or terrista planning and attacking us on our soil.

Just an afterthought..
The incredible thing about this war, is that 2 weeks ago I was in NYC - And, one day I bought the Daily News there, and the first (and perhaps the only) article about Iraq was on about page 6...All the other headline crap was about Paris Hilton, and ...I can't even remember what...
And, when I got back to NC, I bought the Charlotte Observer....Same thing...Nothing about the war until page 4, 5 or 6, or wherever it was buried....But, there were articles about other nonsense on the front pages...
And, though I've never been able to read an (Middle-Eastern) Arabic newspaper...I am sure that (with their religious properness), they dont have Paris Hilton types of nonsense articles...I am sure they have things like this war on the front pages...And, that is why the people there are becoming angrier and angrier,...And, more sympathetic to the insurgents....
Maybe our media should weigh their priorities, and responsibilities.....Our people dying there everyday indeed deserve front page headlines...Not Paris Hilton and the other wastes in our society...

Yes but don't forget
"We're fighting them there, so we don't have to fight them here. That is a favorite Republican nonreason-reason for continuing toward infinity with the war in Iraq,"

What terrorists in Iraq are we "keeping on the run"? I'd say with over 100,000 civilians killed in Iraq so far since our involvement, many of them in public bombings, they clearly have things going completely as planned (and they are probably sleeping well at night). There are MORE terrorists we need to be worried about in London, Germany, Dearborn Michigan, New Jersey, Canada, Florida, Saudi Arabia, Northern Africa, and on and on...

Again, how does our presence in Iraq help this situation? And please don't say that a democratic Iraq will decrease terrorism. Thanks in advance.
migee, the reason why it's not on the front pages is because Americans generally don't care about it that much because it doesn't directly affect them day to day. It's sacrifice-free, unlike past conflicts the U.S. has been engaged in.
You want front page news, propose a big tax increase to pay for war funding.

I am a constitutional conservative.
Bush has earned my utter contempt fair and square.
Iraq was not a first-tier enemy such as Russia, China, and Mexico are.
It had no ICBMs, no navy, and no air force that could reach out to us.
This invasion apparently was a personal issue for King George II.
We are doing almost everything possible in Washington to ensure our eventual defeat or surrender at the hands of the chinese.
I never thought I would live to see the day the USA had a more incompetent, disinterested, bullheaded, enemy of the people, contempt-for-the-law, and probably more treasonous president than Slick...but we do, his name is George.

The reports I've read say Saddam condidered al Qaeda an enemy and would not let them operate withinIraq.
I agree we should be doing what we can to keep them on the run but I don't think Iraq was the place to do it.
