This invasion apparently was a personal issue for King George II.
We are doing almost everything possible in Washington to ensure our eventual defeat or surrender at the hands of the chinese.
I never thought I would live to see the day the USA had a more incompetent, disinterested, bullheaded, enemy of the people, contempt-for-the-law, and probably more treasonous president than Slick...but we do, his name is George.
As I keep saying...........IMPEACH !! I can think of no greater reason , than the treason you refer to.....in many countries someone like Bush would be hanged at the gate........the least we can do , is turn him and his comrades over to the World court to stand trial. It is a dirty, rotten shame so many have lost their lives, their wifes, their children , and their limbs, just to fuel an evil regime. So Sad........

Thanks for the kudos!

As far as how to prevent a debacle, I think that's up to the Iraqis themselves. Vietnam was not a pleasant place for a long time after we left. It's far from nirvana now but at least it appears to have stablized. We could maintain a small force to help secure the borders (no pun intended) to keep foreign insurgents. Other than that, I believe that it's time for Iraqis to determine their own future.

This is the second time I'm going to call you on this "genocide" garbage.

Stop using words to which you obviously do not know the meaning.

I agree- one of my pet peeves. The "cheapening" of words (like "genocide") is the mirror image of "political correctness"- both are opposite sides of the same coin which, if we let them enter a serious discussion, can water down the meaning of what's said.
A couple of years ago, the Los Angeles Police Dept., during an investigation of the shooting of a gang member, was repeatedly accused (in a televised hearing) of "committing genocide against the (ethnic group) people of South Central". This was allowed to pass into the record without comment. I found it annoying, as half the people in the room were from South Central. They certainly looked healthy to me.
They had every right to demand an explanation and investigation, but regardless of what the police were, or were not doing, it was certainly not "genocide"....guess you hit a nerve with me

Oil is a red herring. Perpetual war is VERY profitable for certain people, especially bankers. Since Bush has become President, the Federal debt has increased from around $4 trillion to $9 trillion. The Federal Reserve is making an absolute killing on this, in interest alone. The Federal Reserve is PRIVATE. Bankers are making billions, maybe trillions, and they're making it on the backs of American soldiers and taxpayers.

War is Hell! If you want Heaven get out of War.

Let the fools that invest their money overseas pay for their protection of raise their prices to cover the risk. We do not need to be the policeman of the world no matter how much the financers complain.

wow, you seriously need to stop reading the left wing blogs and maybe try a little research.. might want to start here first and if you're too lazy to click on it I'll post a quote from the FAQ..

Poor wording, on my part, but you are very naive if you honestly don't think bankers are profiting on this war. Every bit of debt this government acquires is owned by bankers. The fact that the Federal Reserve is not technically a private corporation is merely superficial. For all intents and purposes, it is private.

I am another that did not vote for Bush, the worse president ever, nor did I see any reason to go into Iraq, even with weapons of mass destruction. We were aware of Iran, Korea, and other countries that were more of a problem for us, so why Iraq?
After we went in I hoped we would find some reason to justify our being there and to this day we have found none, instead we have created a monster that will take decades if ever to pay for and leaving a country and its people far worse off than before.
Afghanistan is now selling more opium than before and in danger of going back into the hands we supposedly liberated them from.
Tell the women of both these countries how liberated they are and will be.
