He was given the job he asked for and claimed he was capable of, if he does it poorly he deserves the heat.

I bet you never would have thought that you and Bush had something in common. Strange how people can be so different yet so much alike.

I can now say that the polls are fairly accurate. Everyone here is passionate about this subject. While some believe in the war, most are against it. Your reasons run the gamut of scary to rational thoughts. I am impressed that some of you exercised the freedom we enjoy as Americans -- the freedom to search for the truth and to question and challenge our government.

Right this minute on news it was said that the government has concluded that al Qaeda has managed to rebulid their operating capability to pre 9/11 levels. So much for the invasion/occupation of Iraq being a great stride in the war against terror.

I agree and the needless deaths of civilians and children are not "acceptable losses".

You wouldn't think so would you ? But I guess non white/non Christians are just "collateral damage" to some. How I hate this term. It would not be quite as acceptable if the losses were ours but some lives are cheaper than others to some...

*sigh* The propaganda never ends, and so many people keep soaking it up.

Our militarized economy is so dependant on perpetual war that if Al Quida did not exist it would have to be created.
Considering it started in Saudi Arabia, which makes huge amounts of money selling oil to fuel our military, maybe Al Quida was created with the specific purpose of being a perpetual enemy. Makes sense as a business plan and defense strategy particularly if the war was going to destroy Saudi’s most dangerous foe .
