Their aim was to get everyone covered but they didn't seem to think about controlling cost.

What makes them think that capping prices is the best way to control cost? Trying to fix prices has caused problems with Japanese hospitals. Having artifically low prices is making it difficult for Japanese hospitals to properly balance their books.

Quote:

Keeping Costs Low

This is how Japan keeps cost so low. The Japanese Health Ministry tightly controls the price of health care down to the smallest detail. Every two years, the health care industry and the health ministry negotiate a fixed price for every procedure and every drug.

Hospitals Hit Hard

But while the patients may be healthy, the hospitals are in even worse financial shape than the doctors.

Bascially we have not yet begun to see the true cost of this healthcare bill. Those whose compnaies have adapted teh mandates know the cost but that doesn't include the huge state cost in increase medicaid in 2017.Meedicare and medicaid set the cost in this country which is why they can't find a doctor basically. When you consider that this country does 70% of world medical and drug research it tells you what the future brings and not just for the US in medicval advancements.

I'm done wasting my breath arguing with those on here that still think this health care bill is a good thing. We've had it here in Mass. for 4 years now and the costs are outrageous! Now instead of my premiums going up 3-5% a year like BEFORE,they've been going up in double digits,38% this year alone!

Personally, I would have based on France or Holland as both have universal insurance but the providers are private businesses.

Mass-care has fallen flat on its face. We've got a failed example RIGHT in front of us, but idiots are still supportive of this horrendous bill. If it can't succeed on a small scale, how will it succeed on a large scale?

Why is stupidity becoming the norm in this country?

I wish I knew the answer to that; Romney was warned repeatedly before he signed that joke of a bill that costs were going to explode, and the bozo in the White House ignored those sam warnings.
