Don't the Dems still have the majority in both House and Senate?
Then how did the evil Republicans manage this one?
Besides pay should always be based on skill/ performance. Gender, race, religion should never be a deciding factor.

Why, yes. Skill and knowledge of the job. That's what it should be based on. But, alas, the Republicans (and one Democrat) who voted this down today apparently don't think so. Therefore, pay will continue to be based, in the large part, on sex.

Yes, pay should be basedf on skill or whatever the employer and employee agreed to ...NOT the sex of the employee.

Yes, pay should be based exactly the same for men and women....if a man has less skill why should he be paid more?

If a man and woman have the same skill set why should the man be paid more?

The POINT is Repugnants do NOT want women to be considered equal human beings....nothing new but the repug stench is growing....

Actually, the Republicans were not so concerned about offending women - but rather staying on the side of big business (please see below). Revolting. They actually called the bill "a jobs killer".

"As always, this sort of legislation is shouted down by big business which claims that it'll lead to "lower wages and fewer jobs." (And what are we facing right now?) Senators who might have voted for it were hobbled by threats from those who give out fat donations for re-election campaigns. As Bloomberg notes, "The Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers this week sent letters to senators notifying them that the business groups would monitor their votes on the measure." If that isn't a threat, then what is?"

if you think that way, then any time you send a letter to you rep, saying we want this or we will remember on election day its a threat to

the point is that ANYTHING out of washington effects the nations jobs and individuals

the fat is there is not pay gap

women earn what they allow themselves to earn

if you know the going rate is xxy, are you going to accept xxx or are you going to say "I'm worth xxy"

if you settle, who's fault is that???

btw

did anyone actually read the link that says woman are SURPASSING men in pay

You do realize the more you use those silly terms the less seriously people take what you have to say. Your initial point had no merit and your use of the English language paints you as a less than serious person.
