Although the Repubs should not get too comfortable. They can be thrown out next.
We saw the perfect storm this election, between the economy, unemployment, the record deficit spending, the Herculean debt, and the dems ramming thru a very unpopular socialist agenda, and we had a historical turnover of elected politicians, both state and federal. This turn over was much greater then the republican takeover, sixteen years ago.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the democratic party will not be lucky enough to see a once in 70 year election turnover any time soon. At best we will see a nornal give and take of election seats, and if things go in the democrat's favor, it will be decades before they will recoup their loses. If anything, the expulsion of democrats will continue into 2012.

Oh please. Tell me how much really changes when the parties switch power positions? Not much.

CORPORATIONS GIVE BIG TO BOTH SIDES: The Democratic Governors Association and Republican Governors Association share 48 top donors, a Center for Responsive Politics (http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2010/11/opensecrets.org - broken link) analysis of the group’s top 100 non-individual donors indicates. Of these 48 donors, 45 are corporations and three are trade associations, the Center finds. This reinforces the maxim that companies seek access to politicians, and by donating to both parties, they ensure that access regardless of which party holds majority.

High profile donors that give to both sides include Comcast, Wal-Mart, Hewlett-Packard, AT&T, Coca-Cola, AFLAC and Verizon. The majority of these corporations donate about the same amount of money to both sides with five corporations giving exactly 50%: Novartis Corp, Kolhberg & Co, KKR & Co, Jacobs Entertainment Inc. and Intuit Inc.

Of the 48 donors, 16 come from the health sector, 10 from general business, eight from communications and electronics, six from finance and insurance, five from energy, two from agribusiness and one from the transportation sector.

When totaling the top 100 non-individual donors from this election cycle, the DGA raised $28.2 million with 59 percent coming from corporations, 36 percent from unions and five percent from trade associations. The RGA raised $30.5 million this election cycle from its top 100 non-individual donors with 70 percent coming from corporations, 28 percent coming from trade associations and two percent from ideological organizations.

The two governors associations are the primary fundraising arm for the gubernatorial candidates. They run advertisements and distribute funds to committees that are in close races. This election cycle the Republican Governors Association out raised the Democratic Governors Association $89 million to $50 million respectively. With two more races to be determined the Republicans will have between 29 and 31 seats and the Democrats will have between 18 and 20 seats.

That's why right there. Corporate giants are playing both sides of the fence and ensuring no matter who wins their agenda will be enacted. If you can't see that you're a fool.

If you think an "extreme" left or an "extreme" right exist in power in this nation you're a fool. Neither party plays the ends of the spectrum they play the middle so that when we "throw the bums out" and elect new bums with a different (Letter) behind their name nothing really changes. Tell me are we still in Iraq? Afghanistan? Is warrantless wiretapping still around? How about the "Patriot" Act? DADT? What about under the "conservative" Bush? Did abortion end even though he picked multiple S.C. Justices, and had a majority in Congress? Has Social Security been reformed under anyone?

I know, I know you'll point out Obamacare. Obamacare is nothing, it will change nothing I can promise you that. It will probably fail because it's not actually change, it's a watered down piece of junk. It does nothing to fix the fundamental problem. Politicians come and go offering the illusion of change but how often do they deliver? Never.

Pretty good.

There was a slight tin-foil aftertaste, but pretty accurate.

But I do think that it does leave out one major factor to both parties being so damn similar. Powerful people (regardless of ideology or background) tend to act in a certain way and psychology experiments support this. Not to say there can't be major differences, but even if the Libertarian Party were to become a major player in American politics, I see no reason why egos and money wouldn't win out over ideology.

Some people believe there is an actual difference between the two parties.
As if changing parties in Washington is the goal in itself.
Many are addicted to TV news and will defend their masters. As Nietzsche stated, that is the nature of slaves.
The brainwashed feel insulted and offended by anything which does not project the black and white view.
This is a nation of ignorant, gullible chumps.
Post something of substance, you repetitive hack.

Well, the nutcase that made the video was too embarrased to even use his own voice in the production. Can't say I blame him. He also, apparetly, doesn't know a single girl would could do the lady's voice. I'm betting he's never known a girl in the Biblical sense either.

There is quite a difference between the Statists on the left and the strict constructionists on the right.

Well yes the old bums were thrown out and replaced by, newer bums. That was kind of the point of the entire video. It is a vicious cycle that is in large part the product of the first past the post system of elections. On the other hand it does assure that there are no major changes in policy that can quickly come after an election. On the other hand if you use a list system you can get entirely new people in (e.g. not Republicans or Democrats), but governments and policies tend to be much less stable.

It seems like mostly people on the left tend to share the point of view of the OP video.
