I am pro union. But I am pro union for people who want a union. If people feel that they are treated well at work, the boss is fair and pays them what they deserve, they have every right to say we don't want a union here. And the unions should listen to them.
But the unions sometimes seem not to get the message. In the case of Delta Airlines, the employees there have voted at least 3 times in the past few years NOT to have a union. Yet the union keeps coming back for more elections. Now they plan to ask for a 4th election!
There comes a time when NO means NO and the Machinist Union should get the message. There are plenty of other places where employees might wish to have a union that they can be organizing! Leave the Delta employees alone for God's sake!

Agreed....if they want, let them unionize. And let the employer fire them and hire new employees if they refuse to work.

As the WSJ reportedly recently, Northwest's flight attendants are leaving their union for the very simple reason that their new colleagues at Delta have higher salaries!!!!!

Unions are notorious job-killing entities that just can't take no for an answer.

That is true. Delta has higher pay scales than the union airlines and benefits equal to the union airlines. In fact somebody told me their vacation is actually better- at Delta you get 3 weeks after 5 years of service and at the union airlines you have to wait until you have 7 years of service to go from 2 to 3 weeks.
