It's easy to have empathy for muslims when you don't have to live with them.
It's always fun to visit countries, even socialist ones. The problem comes from living there for longer than a 12-24 month span. I love the country my parents grew up in, spent many a summers there. But I would NEVER EVER live there over America. Another socialist country that is too xenopobic towards Roma, blacks, etc. just like Sweden.
Lemme tell you a secret: it's a problem in Sweden too.
Fortunately my Swedish side of the family is far from anti Muslim. I am grateful for that. Can't stand racists and surely would not tolerate them as my kin. Would rather have no kin in that case.
I disagree with you about it being fun to visit countries, even socialist ones, but not live there for long. If you are willing to work and enjoy the climate and food, etc, its not so bad. Like you, I spent many summers there as well as a few years of my adult life. Too bad wanderlust propelled me to leave. I still find it an interesting society and would have no problem living there again.
Being a minority, I would say that no, it is not harder to live in Sweden. I would say I have had more difficulty in parts of the US. The secret you told me is no secret. I am well aware of xeonophobic tendencies throughout Europe. I guess I just got so used to racism in America that its no big deal.
Sweden certainly has it's problems, but they are actually fairly minuscule in comparison to the issues of many other Western nations.
Of course, it's also the case that Sweden itself is miniscule compared to many other Western nations. Perhaps that's why her problems seem miniscule, eh?

Indeed. Americans have bigger fish to fry than worrying about what Sweden is, or is not, doing.
Have you noticed how hard it is to be a dictator in a relatively free market capitalism environment?
I would say that's not what the discussion was about and I am far from proposing dictatorship in a free market capitalistic environment. Not my ideal, at all.

Socialism is the right environment for a dictatorship to thrive.
If you think that that's not possible in the US look at the FDR presidency.
Yeah, and I support a 2nd wave of New Deal programs.
Its pretty clear where I stand.
So you're okay with living in a dictatorship as long as it pushes an agenda you agree with?
