Israel is not amused They complained that both these steps are not in agreement with US foreign politics, as if there were some law saying EU and US politics have to go hand in hand

Great, let them pay for the services Israel pays for now. I'm sure the EU would love to pay for more foreigners' social services like they do in their own countries currently.

The issue is not should there be a Palestinian state. The issue they are squabbling over is what will it include. The Pals desperately want East Jerusalem as their capital, and if they unilaterally declare sovereignty, they will have to be content with a capital in Ramallah.

If I remember correctly it was Jerusalem as a whole that will be majority Arab/Muslim anyway in the future because the Muslims simply outbreed the Jews

They outbreed secular Jews, not religious ones.
And what you're describing is being labeled as a demographic time bomb. It applies to the whole country, not just Jerusalem. This is the main reason Israel rejects the Palestinian right of return for their refugees, which this weekend was revised to 7 million people. It's demographic suicide, even moreso for a democracy.
