Honestly, I don't care what they do behind closed doors. The part that makes me want to puke is that they stand so piously as the "moral majority" and try to legislate their version of morality as if it stands superior to others - and then they get caught with their pants down.
...I can see him now, walking out of a hotel with his pants around his ankles, spouting how he has "new respect" for his wife....
...hmmmm...new respect? that respect came ONLY after he was outed.... after Larry Flint called him days earlier to let him know he was going to be outed....he only fessed up to beat Flynt to the punch....Vitter's a creep

It is unfortunate that the people we elect for office in this nation fall into these problems. Regradless of what political background one is loyal to, his family must be devistated, and I for one pray that they have found forgiveness and are working toward restoration in their marriage. He should resign, and probably will.
So, lets not start playing the blame game and saying it was 'this or that' what caused this man's demise. He made wrong choices, and now he has to pay the consequences for those choices. There is one before him that did a similar thing, but lied about it under oath, and the general public feels that it's ok. If anything, acts like these show the state of our nation as a whole. On the outside some of us talk a big talk on marriage, family, etc. but in our private lives, lead a much different view.
I believe this is a nationwide problem so before anyone starts bringing politics in the mix, look at where our culture has gone in morality, decency, etc.. just over the last 40 years. Look at all the millions of babies that have been killed in the name of 'choice'. Where has this nation gone? Financially we are doing awesome, but spiritually we are in the toilet.
