You do not know what a Liberal or Liberalism is; you only know what you think it is. That is known as self delusion and ignorance.

IMHO - You do not have a home. You have an emotional and intellectual prison. I hope you live alone because you should not inflict your vitriol on other people.

Liberalism starts with the primacy of the individual and attempts to provide political and economic systems that create equal opportunity for all individuals. We do not tolerate systems that enforces the rule that people are constrained by the conditions of their birth.

Liberal placed over the Progressive name, is like Welfare being place over public assistance. It is a label used to mislead the uneducated public.

A liberal Progressive has ideas that are anything but liberal in the definition of the word liberal.
Same as public assistance being called "welfare"

To fool those that hear the word and have this vision of what it should mean, when it is the total opposite.

Renaming bad things to keep pushing it on the people. The intellectual elite survive off of it.

I read the article.

One persons opinion of Conservatives=Good & Liberals=Bad.
That's all it is.

I stopped at the suggestion that liberals who make the same amount as conservatives will try to get government help.
Grouping people together & judging them based on their political leanings & NOT as individuals is irresponsible, wrong, & idiotic.

Another bash liberals thread......sigh.....& WHO is the author saying are the unhappy ones?

There's nothing like a poll--which questions a small number of people and then extrapolates the data to include much larger groupings--to "prove" whatever it is you want to prove. This one is no exception.

Talking Why right wingers try to paint unflattering portraits of anyone they disagree with

According to polls — Pew Research Center, the National Science Foundation — and studies such as Arthur Brooks’s Gross National Happiness, conservative Americans are happier than liberal Americans.

Liberals respond this way: “If we’re unhappier, it’s because we are more upset than conservatives over the plight of those less fortunate than ourselves.”

Why Unhappy People Become Liberals - Dennis Prager - National Review Online

Good reason to be a conservative huh?

Both Brooks and Prager are right wing mouthpieces. National Review is a right wing publication. To cite a right wing article as proof of anything is beyond ridiculous.

But it is entertaining that you righties seem to think you've said something.

Ignorance is bliss, so they say.

"Why unhappy people become liberals."
Just ask a conservative for his views on Obama, liberals, atheists, gays, muslims, intellectuals, any non-American culture, and be prepared for wrath and rage.
How can conservatives be happy, they live in a world of paranoia.

I have attached an article (non-political) about what makes people happy. I think it is fairly objective. Based on the article it would seem that both conservatives and liberals can be happy.

In summary, it says that the accumulation of wealth has nothing to do with happiness. Happiness is surrounding yourself with a lot of people that you enjoy being around and doing something that you love doing. This could be anyone.

It is also partly genetic.

Liberals have funnier comedians: George Carlin, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Bill Hicks...

I am an intellectual conservative and quite happy. I have views on all the above, but for me it comes down to fiscal sanity....as long as you don't over tax and spend I can compromise on most else.
