I was reading about Assange on another forum and this youtube was posted there.
It's a bit long ..17 minutes and I only watched about 10 minutes. What he had to say though was both enlightening and somewhat frightening. With the loss of paper to electronic bits it can become quite easy to make something in history just "disappear". And with many having copyrights they can only be contained on a single server so once it's gone..it's gone.

He then told of billionaires and their access to governments and big business to have electronic documents purged. He also went on to say there are hundreds of secret gag orders in effect to prevent the press from talking about certain government issues or issues involving corporations.

How's that for Freedom of the Press ?

"We're deeply skeptical that prosecuting WikiLeaks would be constitutional, or a good idea," Hina Shamsi, Director of the ACLU National Security Project, said. "The courts have made clear that the First Amendment protects independent third parties who publish classified information. Prosecuting WikiLeaks would be no different from prosecuting the media outlets that also published classified documents."

"Prosecuting publishers of classified information threatens investigative journalism that is necessary to an informed public debate about government conduct, and that is an unthinkable outcome."

Assaunge is avoiding the USA.

Not because we have laws here that make what he does illegal. It's because we have and Administration, cheered on by the elite power structure, that would invent or warp existing laws to arrest him with.

They'd do it and nobody would give a damn.

Straight out of some 3rd World Banana Republic.

He's wanted by Interpol because he had sex without a condom.
In Sweden that is a crime and punishable by 2 years in prison on the charges of rape.

Now it's understandable why Sweden dropped that warrant as quickly as they issued it.
Interpol is looking for Assange because he didn't use a condom.
Honestly..you can't make this stuff up.

Julian Assange's rape case: is Sweden just making it up? Julian Assange's former lawyer writes for Crikey | Crikey

"Apparently having consensual sex in Sweden without a condom is punishable by a term of imprisonment of a minimum of two years for rape. That is the basis for a reinstitution of rape charges against WikiLeaks figurehead Julian Assange that is destined to make Sweden and its justice system the laughing stock of the world and dramatically damage its reputation as a model of modernity."

This government didn't need to "plant" weapons of mass destruction in Iraq .. it already got what it wanted ... an illegal and undeclared war ... why bother ... especially when half of the brain dead goofballs in this country think they actually found them?

Greatest reverse psychology scam in history? PULLEEZE .... You give the sheeple way too much credit ... you could have CNN declare that Obama was Jesus and half the population would be lining up to by Obama rosaries.

THIS IS CLASSIFIED INFORMATION ??? MAJOR BREAKING NEWS ... Israel lies!!!! Hahahahahahahahaha .... that's rich ... real fvking rich, pal.

Let me clue your arse in on something ... psy-op disinformation propaganda ... if it's worth it's salt ... blends already known information (like Israel lying, bwuhahahaha) with the disinfo. That's how they get the dummies to believe it.

I'm not posing an argument ... you are arguing nonsense.

Bull ... he isn't an American citizen, and he didn't steal the information. It was given to him. AND, as a non citizen he has no obligation to respect our requirements for handling "classified" information. He swore no oath, signed no contract with the US government..

Geeze.

If espionage in the US is illegal, how come the CIA can do it and not be held accountable?
