The Associated Press: House speaker-to-be calls tax bill 'chicken crap'

What a classy guy. Imagine if Nancy Pelosi made a comment like that; right-wingers would be howling for days. Of course, she never would say anything like that. The difference in character between Pelosi and Boehner is like night and day.

Failure by Congress to extend the Bush tax cuts, especially locking in the 15 percent capital gains tax rate, will spark a stock market sell off starting December 15 as investors move to lock in gains at a lower rate than the 20 percent it would jump to next year, warn analysts.
While it is unclear how bad the sell off could be, it could wipe out the year's gains, they warn.
"Capital gains tax rate will increase from 15 to 20 percent if the tax cuts are not extended. The last time the capital gains tax rate increased--on Jan. 1, 1987 from 20 to 28 percent--investors realized their gains at the lower tax rate," said Daniel Clifton at a Washington partner at Strategas Research Partners. "We would expect a similar effect this time around as investors see the tax rate going up and choose to realize their gains and incur the 15 percent tax."

Who cares what he says. Issues matter. Voting on bills without reading them matter.

John Boehner is a politician I would actually support and there are not too many of those today.

I think Boehner believes in capitalism and NOT moving our country to some politically correct version of socialism which will be SOLD to Americans as "State Capitalism".

I believe that money is the fruit of one's time and labor. Therefore the gov't has no right to that money regardless of how much the person makes.

Boehner is not into playing the typical class warfare games that do nothing but distract ppl by pitting them against each other. Meanwhile back in Washington....the disingenuous politicians are GETTING RICHER...you know...those same politicians who said they wanted to HELP you(but not some rich person...let's take them for everything they have!)

Do you see how the game works and is played yet????

Going back to the tax levels under Clinton for the top 2% (actually lower than that since they will still have the cuts on the portions of income under $250,000) is not Socialism.

Naive. For example, what has Boner done to deserve his public funded salary? What labor has he contributed?
