The Iraq war was a mistake. We lost thousands of brave men and women and tens of thousands more will be disabled for life. We also lost national credibility and spent $1 trillion on a war we didn't need. Somewhere around 80,000 Iraqi citizens also lost their lives. Iraq will either collapse into another civil war or be a puppet state for Iran after the U.S. leaves, whether that's today or any other time in the future. Truly heartbreaking. History will not look kindly on the U.S. effort in Iraq.
I've seen it and it was heartbreaking as hell to watch. Like Winter says, history is going to judge us very harshly for Iraq, and i hope that the Iraqi people will find it in their hearts to forgive us for what we've done.

I don't think Americans are at a place where they can conceive of how history will "judge us." At worst, Americans feel they are immune from historical judgement.

Generally speaking, i agree with you. We tend to think that just because our country is exceptional and our intentions are somewhat good, that we'll never be judged harshly by historians.
Most of sane Americans prefer to make judgments ourselves instead of letting some idiot making a film do it for us.
Here's question for you, how many films about Iraq coming out of Hollywood could even remotely be deemed pro government? None? See the bias?
Well, perhaps some people should make a film (that doesn't "come out of Hollywood") about the Iraq situation that is pro-government. Has such a film been made and if not, why not?
Watching documentaries is not always about believing everything presented to you. But there is something to be said for individuals who actually spend time on the ground documenting the circumstances of war and then present what they've gathered. If you judge it as biased before even watching it, that's your choice!
