Yeah, it's Dan Rather. However, I've also read just recently that many big Democratic contributers are talking about giving President Wimp another 4-6 months and then starting to look elsewhere for 2012. One can only hope so.

Quote:
"This is a political nightmare for Barack Obama as president. The more-left portion of his party hates this with a passion. And politically, within his own party, if this goes through, Barack Obama will be in a position to have his shirttail on fire, his back to the wall, and the bill collector at the door. Which is metaphorically a way of saying he's almost guaranteed -- if this goes through -- to have a serious challenge in a Democratic primary for president in 2012."

Rather went on to add that "the perception of [Obama] is that he won't fight for anything." He also noted: "Many of the heavy contributors to the Democratic Party are beyond shock about this happening, and are saying to themselves, 'This guy . . . has about four to six months to turn the perception of him and the party around or we've got to start thinking about somebody else in 2012.' "

Dan Rather is right on the money on this one.

Ronald Reagan challanged Gerald Ford during the primaries to unseat him from election. He lost his challenge, and Ford went down in flames to Jimmy Carter.

So? Carter was challenged by Kennedy and then lost to Reagan too. I've had enough of Obama. At this point, I could care less if he goes down.

I hope so. Obama has been nothing but a pushover to the right and a coward. I really hope a real leader like dean, grayson, weiner, or kucinich run. Though the hero lately has been sanders, i'd vote for him over obama in a second.

My point is that it is not unheard of for a sitting president to be challenged for re-election.

Who would go against Obama? Hillary has already declared that she is DONE with public office after her term as Sec of State.

Let's hope someone even more left leaning runs against Obama in the primaries

Apparently some Dems are still in disbelief that it's the agenda that's being rejected and more of it isn't going to get them anywhere, except marginalized.
