You need 60 votes to end a filibuster true, but this isnt a filibuster because THE VOTING IS SCHEDULED.. A filibuster is when THERE IS NO VOTING.. When they hold a vote "hostage" (liberal term now) to STOP ANY PROGRESS from taking place...

Cloture and filibusters in the U.S. Congress - SourceWatch

a filibuster is an attempt to extend debate on a proposal in order to delay or completely prevent a vote on its passage. The term first came into use the Senate, where rules permit a senator or a series of senators to speak for as long as they wish and on any topic they choose, unless a supermajority group of 60% of senators brings debate to a close by invoking cloture. Filibustering, for many years, was the primary tactic by which southern senators were able to block civil rights and anti-lynching legislation from coming to the floor. More recently, the filibuster received attention when the Republican-controlled 109th Congress threatened to end it in an attempt to stop Democrats from blocking President Bush’s judicial

No one is speaking as long as they want, the bill is moving forward.. The fact that you liberals dont know the process isnt my fault so keep the bs to yourself..

You obviously still didn't read the article... This is a first vote before the final vote... So this is a FILLIBUSTER...

"The measure has already passed in the House, and proponents of the measure say the lame-duck vote in the Senate is their last, best chance to make it law, because next year's GOP-controlled House isn't expected to support it.

Wednesday's planned vote is a critical point, but not the final step. If the test vote succeeds, the matter would proceed to floor debate, possible amendments, and a final vote on passage."

If the vote succeeds the vote moves to the floor debate.. if it deoesnt its a dead bill, which FAILED.. THATS NOT A FILIBUSTER.. again a filibuster is NO VOTING TAKING PLACE.. its stopping the process through a parliamentary process which is NO VOTING...

If this vote doesn't pass it's a FILLIBUSTER...

You're wrong again but... You're going off topic... Why are the Republicans against the bill?...

No I'm not wrong.. I clearly know that a filibuster can only take place by STOPPING THE VOTING.. By definition thats what it is.. You can ignore the definition but that doesnt make you correct, especially when I quoted the definition

a filibuster is an attempt to extend debate on a proposal in order to delay or completely prevent a vote on its passage.

Your own link and YOU admit there is a vote scheduled..

They claim they oppose the bill because of the tax ramifications which will cost jobs attached to the bill, not the bill itself. Are you upset because Democrats attached unrelated provisions to the bill that would cost american jobs?

If today's test vote doesn't pass... There won't be a final vote at all... That is a FILLIBUSTER...

If todays test vote doesnt pass, the bill fails.. Do you call every bill that fails a filibuster? Do you not know the difference between a dead bill and a filibuster?

It's a fillibuster plain and simple... The Wall Street Journal article even says so...

But the question remains... Why are the Republicans against Health Insurance for 9/11 responders?...
