Reagan won his re-election bid. Like I said in another post, a lot can happen in two years.

President Barack Obama's declining approval rating recalls the slide in popularity suffered by Ronald Reagan, who grappled with a recession in the early 1980s

Comparing Obama to Reagan is not only an insult to Ronald Reagan, but also a little presumptuous, like implying he will be reelected like Reagan was. They are on OPPOSITE ends of the spectrum politically. Reagan had the best interest of the country at heart, Obama does NOT.

Really? Why does Obama not have the Country's interest at heart? Did Reagan have the Country's best interests at heart when he passed amnesty? Which just encouraged more border crossings and gave corporations a bigger slice of cheap labor.

Carter was doing equally as good at the mid point of his term. The economy was doing reasonably well, relations with the USSR were stable, and he had a broad base of support. He lost in a landslide in 1980.

George H. W. Bush had one of the highest approval ratings on record in the middle of his term during the Gulf War. Yet, he still lost in 1992.

Really?

Selling weapons to an enemy state was in the best interest of the country?

The blind faith of the cult of Ronnie is truly astounding.

Exactly my point. Things could change. Like the saying goes, It's the economy stupid. Things MAY change and Obama could win a second term. It's hard to tell what will happen at this point.

The difference, however, was Reagan pulled us out of the Carter Recession. Obama, on the other hand is continually driving us into the Obama Recession.

Reagan had the best interest of the country at heart, Obama does NOT.

Could not have said it any better.

Reagan was a leader and had brains and common sense.

Obama, well no brains, no common sense and purposely trying to take down America financially as well as many other ways.

Even Obama mentioned he hoped to be more like Reagan and provide a strong leadership, not going to happen. He does not have it in him.

Obama would not make a pimple on Reagans butt.

Reagan will go down in history as one of the best Presidents ever, Obama one one the worst ever.
