When I see people receiving gifts I think it's wonderful! When I recieve a gift it's even better and I simply say, "Thank you", and appreciate the THOUGHT.......I guess grinch's don't.

I guess Christmas should be cancelled this year because someone somewhere might offend the overly sensitve with a
FRIVOLOUS gift!! AAAHHHHHH!

Oh, wait, CHRISTMAS is frivolous...now I am confused....

Ah but how do you know how she will be celebrating? Perhaps she is working a soup line. Also I don't think anyone would consider dinner with friends politically incorrect. Flying hundreds of people to Australia is.

you really think person who is given a free car cares if it promoted the person giving it to them? most people would love a new free car even if it had a customized paint job of oprah's face on it.

if mcdonalds feed the hungry and served them happy meals and burgers wrapped in mcdonald logo'd paper you think the hungry would care?

It is not the recipients motives being discussed it is the donors. And your analogy hits the nail on the head. Giving away cars randomly is self promotion. Giving food to the needy is not.
